Welcome to
Guerilla Shorts!
(Take 2)
What is Guerrilla Shorts? To put it simply, it's a compilation of low budget short films premiering at one of the only video stores left in Toronto: Eyesore Cinema... but the long answer is much more interesting.

In 2019, a couple of high-school seniors made their very first short film: "Powerless Passion". Needless to say, it was beyond terrible, with amateur directing, editing, and horrendous ADR that refused to match the actors' mouths.

However, being one of those two students, I can attest that there was something special about the experience... to film and edit a series of scenes to make something that could entertain.

So, over the next 6 years, me and my partner in crime, Yash Betgeri, spent time learning and practicing the craft, including but not limited to watching an unhealthy amount of movies, helping out other productions, and yes, making more of our own films!

Guerrilla Shorts is the result of our training. Movies that may not have a proper budget (hence the name "Guerrilla"), but made with all the love and creativity we have, as well as with the invaluable help of a small group of actors, cinematographers, and occasionally crew members.

But that's just the beginning! With the overwhelming amount of submissions last festival, we decided to change up our approach for this event, focusing on other short films.

Join Us at Guerilla Shorts
With our very first event of Guerilla Shorts, while the main focus was on our short films, this event will be tailored made towards other filmmakers.
A small fee for submissions have been added due to the overwhelming amount of films sent last festival, but with a affordable price (4$ CAD) as well as a further focus on clear communication and a larger scale, we are creating a event that is well worth your investment.

Further details about rules can be seen on our Filmfreeway page.
